A little bit of everything

On April 11th, Avery was 15 months old. I can't believe it. It has been one of the funniest times but also one of the hardest. She is such a sweetheart and makes me laugh everyday. Some new words are Austin, Happy, Ducks, and Thank You. We think she says a lot more, but we just don't pick up on it. She chatters all day long at home. She loves to play, loves to be outside and loves to make people laugh. She is also very independant and going through some major seperation anxiety. She is very shy, and often times does not want anyone but Mama. We go through the day with her holding on to one leg. If someone even walks to close to us, she cries. She also cries whenever I leave the room. She has also been sick lately (which I think has a lot to do with the anxiety/crying), nasty cold, cough, flu and teething, but is finally on the mend. She loves to explore outside and would be happy just to spend all day outdoors. Today we went to feed the ducks and she absolutely loved it. She watched the ducks for 40 minutes. She dances, takes everything out of all cupboards and baskets each day, throws her sipping cup a good distance and always brings me her shoes. A typical 15 month old. We love her lots!I had a shower at my house this last saturday for my cousin Heidi and her baby Courtney. I am so excited for baby Courtney to come. She recieved so many cute things! Don't you just love little girly things. She recieved the cutest stitching for the Nursery, that I will have to remember for someday. Heidi has got to be one of the cutest Pregnant women ever! It was such a fun day!

I also have another new hobby. I made these for baby Courtney and loved them so much that I want to make some for Avery. Aaron watches the BBall games on while I sit next to him and crochet. It was difficult at first because I didn't understand the pattern, thank goodness for google. Crochet has it's own language.


I really love this one. I got a white rose, took it apart and glued lace in between the petals, then added grean rinestone in the center. I can just picture Avery wearing it in the fall with a plum shirt.

Many women have been talking/blogging about this lately and I am right there with them. I love to create! I love to put time, energy, thought and love into gifts. I am currently working on some Mother's Day gifts. I love to learn new things and challenge myself.



I haven't finished the second page in Avery's quiet book yet. I have everything cut out, but haven't gotten to sewing and painting yet. (yes painting, curious?) I have been working in the yard a lot during naptime.



Also, very exciting news, I am a Auntie (again) Congrats to Craig, Sharelle, and Gavin. Little Mason was born 4/19/09 8, pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long. I haven't got to meet him yet
:( due too Avery being sick, but I am so excited. Here is a picture that Craig emailed us. Isn't he so cute! I think he looks more like Craig. I can't wait to meet him.

Quiet Book Page # 1 Noah's Ark

A quiet book for Avery has been on my project list for awhile now. We have really been needing it in church lately so I decided to start. This is my Noah's Ark Page. The ark has a zippered pouch to keep some little animals that I found at the dollar spot at target. The poem on the side says this,

"The Lord told Noah what to do,

and sent the animals two by two.

The ark will keep them safe and dry,

the rain will cause the water to be high.

For 40 days the rain came down,

The Dove returned when land was found.

Then God sent a Rainbow as a sign,

A gift of His love, that forever will shine." It was a little harder than I thought it was going to be. I already had a bunch of felt, for the page I just used an old sheet that I had, and I will line it with interfacing to make it a little stiffer and more durable. I have heard stories of kids ripping off all of the felt pieces, so I used fabric glue on all of them first and then stitched them on. The waves and little Noah I hand stitched, the rest I could do by machine. I hope Avery will like it and that it will keep her entertained for church for many sundays ahead. I am still unsure of how I want to bind it when I'm done. I also have a few other projects in mind for Sunday entertainment. I think I will also make a bag that is just for Sundays to keep things exciting. I am so excited for the next page. I should have it done by the beginning of next week. (maybe)

Happy Easter!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter. Ours was great!

It started with an Easter Egg Hunt at Grandpa and Grandma Waddoups' House. Avery knew right away what she should do. She went around the yard and placed her Easter Eggs in her basket. It was so funny! She kept tripping and dumping all of her eggs out. She would then patiently place them one by one back in her Princess Basket. She loved the eggs, but loved them even more when she discovered Candy in them. She got to try skittles and smarties for the first time. Since then, whenever she sees her Easter Basket, she wants candy.
Even the adults had an Easter egg hunt. I am sure we looked pretty funny all running around trying to find the Golden Egg. Congrats Jason on finding it. I am never that lucky. :)



On Easter Morning, Avery was very happy. She recieved some sand toys, a princess puzzle, and princess ball and a My Little Pony in her Easter basket. No more candy though. Her favorite was the Sand Toys. She carried the bucket around all morning.

This is her Easter Dress. Thank you Grandpa Waddoups. He said he would buy her one if it was frilly. She looked so pretty. But she kept wanting to rip the flower off. She is always on the move, so it as hard to get a picture of her.

We had Stake Conference, it was wonderful, and Avery actually sat through most of it. After we went to Grandpa and Grandma Rich's house for dinner. Avery got to have her first 4-wheeler ride. As you can see, she loved it.

It was a great day! We enjoyed being with eachother and family, we enjoy every moment with Avery and we enjoyed remembering our Savior's sacrifice for us.
