Our Christmas

On the 23rd. Avery and I made sugar cookies for Santa. Avery loved it, and did a really good job at helping too. Of course we didn't use some of the dough, because it got played with a little too much.
They turned out pretty good too.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Aaron's Dad's home for breakfast with Aaron's family. Then we went to see The Princess and the Frog. It was a really cute show. Afterwards, we went shopping with the whole family. This has been a tradition forever. It was a lot of fun, but of course I forgot to take pictures. Afterwards, we headed down to my parents and went bowling.

Avery loves to bowl, and is always so excited for her turn.

Unfortunately, I was the worst bowler. I didn't even break 100. I would like to blame it on being 36 weeks pregnant, but I am usually that bad. We took this picture, because I went bowling when I was pregnant with Avery around the same time and took a picture like this.
Avery discovered that she loved opening presents. In fact she offered her services to everyone. Here are some pictures from Christmas Morning.

Aaron surprised me with everything needed to put in recessed lighting in our living room, and then put them in that day. He is amazing. It only took him a couple of hours. I love surprises and was so excited. Of course Avery had to help.
We just hung out at home on Christmas. But we headed down to Aaron's Mom's the next day, and had a giant sleepover with the family. Avery loved playing with her cousins, and it was so good to spend time with everyone. We hope that everyone had a great Christmas. We love you all and our so grateful for you.

In other news, Aaron has been miserable with his left eye. He went to the MD today, and discovered that there was a piece of metal in his eye. He has to go back tomorrow, but hopefully it starts feeling better soon.

The pregnancy is going great. I still have quite a bit to do to get ready, but we are excited. I am almost 37 weeks. I am already dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced. I have another appointment tomorrow. We hope that you have a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

On Monday, we went and saw the lights at Temple Square. I have been many times, but each time I am amazed at how pretty they are. Avery loved looking at the lights, temple and getting attention from Grandma and Aunt McCall and Jason. She reminded us of the little boy on the Christmas Story in her snow suit. It was so cold, but very crowded. I am glad that McCall remembered her camara, because I forgot mine and that I was able to button up my coat without busting it. Here are just a few of the pics. It was a fun night!Also, by the time we got our family pictures taken and I thought about Christmas Cards, it was to late to get them printed and mailed. So here is our card. Avery's Big Girl Room

So this is not the order that I would have put the pictures in, but I can't get them to move. We have Avery in her big girl room. So far she has done great. She has not fallen out of bed, and goes to bed pretty easily. I still have little things that I want to do, but that will just have to wait.

This is a picture of her messy closet. What I wanted to show you is her boxes. I actually did this project a couple of months ago. I had Aaron add some shelves in her closet. Then I took some heavy duty boxes home from work, made covers and cavas liners for each. I thought they turned out cute, and they have held up really well. Eventually I will have each box labeled. But it makes playing easier. No matter where we are in the house, we can just take a box with us. We rotate the toys more this way, and I don't have toys all over my house. I plan on doing this for the baby's room too.

This is an overall picture of her room, with her new bedding and bed. The bed is my old green rod iron from when I was a teenager. I just painted it white. This is my old dresser that I refinished. This dresser actually belonged to my Mom too.
The space next to her dresser is reserved for her Christmas and Birthday Presents. I hope to do something like the picture below from craftingchicks.blogspot.com, but matching her decor.
Here are her curtains. I originally bought them, just to use the fabric to make curtains. But I am thinking that I like them. We will see.
I still need to do something new above her bed instead of the photo board.
I would like to do a fabric, pendant banner in this space above the closet.

I would like to add some pillows in coordinating fabric. Maybe some like these felt ones from Pottery barn. Well thats it so far. Have a good day.

Family Pictures

We just had some family pictures taken. I loved them. Of course, I don't love having my picture taken at 7 1/2 months pregnant.



There were lots of cute ones of Avery. The poor photographer had to chase her around. We finally got her to hold still by asking her to fold her arms.




These were just a bunch of our favorites. The color was much better before I changed them to save on the web. Everything is going good. Just busy getting ready for Christmas and the Baby. I can't believe only 6 more weeks. Avery's big girl room is finished except for small decor that will come slowly. I love how it turned out. I will post some pictures soon. She looks so small in her big twin bed. The baby's room is coming along too. Avery is 23 months tomorrow. She is still so funny, but is starting to get to that stubborn 2s. She now knows the word "mine", but she is still a sweetheart.

Too Many titles for one post

Like the title says, this post is too random that there would too many things to put in the title. First of all, Avery is now 22 months old. I can't believe that she is almost 2. Two weeks ago, we celebrated the last day of fall and went and had a picnic at Castle Park. Avery loves the park as you can see. She is the sweetest little girl and is so obedient. She can pretty much say any word that you ask her too, and talks non stop. She even trys to sing. She loves school, and now loves playing with friends. She always wants to give people hugs. She will often chase sam around saying "hug?". Poor dog. She loves to run, dance, and play. She also loves books and doing anything that you do. I still don't think that she understands that she is going to be a big sister, but she loves babies. Most days she can be found pushing her doll stroller with her baby and her purse slung over her shoulder. She has just starting yelling "Amen" at the end of prayers which is pretty funny. She gives me something to laugh about and tell daddy about every day. She is very loved.

Today (I know, really early) Avery helped me put up the Christmas decorations. I wanted it up because we will be busy all weekend, and I am trying to organize the basement and get the baby stuff up and ready. She was so cute.

Here are a couple of crafts that I have been working on. I am just trying to get ready for Christmas. I finished the dresser and will show you pics when Avery's room is completed. I made these necklaces for my VT.
This is a crochet doll cradle that folds up into a purse. My mom bought Avery one at a boutique, and I just copied it. It was pretty simple to make and only took me around an hour. I am still looking for more little dolls though, so let me know if you find any. They are going to be Avery's Christmas gifts to her little friends. They are perfect for church, car rides and running errands. Avery loves hers.

These are the scarves that I am crocheting for Avery's teachers for Christmas.
Well everything is going good. I can't believe that we only have 8 more weeks until this new little girl comes to visit. Still no name yet, but I have ordered the Nursery bedding. I will post some pictures when I have some. I am afraid that Avery and the Baby's room will be pretty basic for awhile and be a work in progress.

This past weekend I had a girls weekend with my Mom and Sister. We got some Christmas shopping done, and also went and saw "New Moon". I loved it. It was fun, I always enjoy spending time with them. I also got to watch one of my brothers basketball games. He is so talented and I don't get to watch enough of them.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am grateful for my Father in Heaven, for my family and for the blessing I have to be a Wife and Mom.

Side note: I am becoming more familiar with my Mac that we have had for 1.5 years. I did this whole post on mac and even used the photoshop for mac. It takes some getting used to, but I think I am going to like it.

I need your Help!

I have finally just started gathering ideas for the Baby's Nursery. I am thinking Dark Pink and brown. I saw this picture at Project Nursery.com. I want this ceiling light fixture!!!!!! So if any of you have seen this light, or a light like it, or know how to make one. Please let me know. I think they are called Pendant lights. I have checked Target, Pottery Barn and Down East home. When I have googled it online, I haven't found one even close and they were most outrageously priced. I might have to give up my dream:(

Halloween 2009 and Bowling

Warning, this is a very long post with lots of pictures.

On Friday October 23rd we took Avery to the Ward Trunk or Treat and Chili Cook-off. It was a lot of fun and there was a really good turnout.As you can see, Avery was a Ute Cheerleader this Halloween. Her costume is a Child's medium that I bought at the bookstore. I had to take it in quite a bit for it to fit, but used simple stitching so I could take it out again to be used later. Avery had her first taste of Carmeled apples and loved it! There were a bunch of games for all of the kids. Avery loved just watching the other kids. She wouldn't let us help her carry her bag, so she ended up draging it all over the parking lot. She never did say Trick or Treat, but got the hang of it after only 2 cars. She knew she would get candy and then she would put it in her bag. At least she would always say Thank you. She got a ton of candy too. I have to hide her bag, whenever she sees it, she wants candy.
Then on Monday, October 25th, I took Avery to the Treehouse Museum's Halloween party for Toddlers. She had a blast just playing at all of the exhibits. She loves singing and story time. But her favorite this time was playing with the trains. She would say "weeee" as they went down a hill.

Afterward we went and ment Daddy for lunch which is always fun. As you can tell below, she must of had a really fun day, because she was tired. This is how I found her taking a nap.

On Halloween, Avery was down at Grandpa and Grandma Waddoups. She loves all of her Grandparents and asks where they are each day. Including Aunt McCall, Uncle Jason, Uncle Austin and Jack the Dog.
Grandpa and Grandma bought her a new toy. This is Avery trying to "help" Grandpa set it up.

Aaron and I went to the Ute game on Saturday. Thanks Brent and Laylene for the Tickets. We wanted to take Avery with us, but were worried it would be too cold. Go Utes! It was fun to get out.

Last night, we went Bowling with our friends the Haroldsons. It was a blast. Avery loved bowling. She kept on saying "ball" and "Avery" many times, meaning it was her turn.

After her first turn, she took off running after the ball. It was Hilarious. She fell just right after this picture was taken. Luckily we both didn't biff it. Sorry the pictures are so grainy, I only had my little camara.
Here are all of the kids after our game. Unfortunetly, I did terrible. Aaron still beat me, even with Avery's "help". She loved playing at the arcade afterwards.
Some funny stories lately. She now says her name. It is so cute, whenever she sees her reflection she says it.

She will poke my belly button and make a noise like the pillbury dough boy.

She was playing with her magnetic Cinderella doll (which she calls Rella) and called the Prince Charming one Jason.

The other day, I got her out of the bath tube and was drying her off. She started to pee on the rug. She said "uh oh" and looked at me like she knew she was doing something that she shouldn't. I said "uh oh" back. Then she looked at our dog Sam and said "no no Sam" like it was him doing it. It was so funny. Unfortunetly she bosses Sam around all day.

She loves babies and always wants to hold them (without help of course) She is such a cute little mama.

She is a joy and we love her lots.

Here is a picture of this weeks project. I am about half way done refinishing it. This will be the dresser in Avery's room. I hope it turns out okay. I really don't enjoy refinishing furniture. I called Aaron earlier today to let him know, if I want to do it again, not to let me.

Well, we are all doing well. The Pregnancy is going good. I can't believe I only have 11 weeks left. Time flys. We are excited for the Holidays ahead of us. I am also excited for DSD this weekend. Have a good day!
