So Funny!

Aaron and I were sitting, relaxing and watching the Rockets game. Avery was up late (9). For some reason she did not want to go to sleep. She was just happy to play. All of the sudden we hear a click, click. We look over at her, and this is what we found.
She is always trying to put our shoes on. She even now says shoes. But she has never been able to walk in them before. Especially heels! She did really good too, she walked across the family room several times. It was too cute and funny.

A little bit of everything

On April 11th, Avery was 15 months old. I can't believe it. It has been one of the funniest times but also one of the hardest. She is such a sweetheart and makes me laugh everyday. Some new words are Austin, Happy, Ducks, and Thank You. We think she says a lot more, but we just don't pick up on it. She chatters all day long at home. She loves to play, loves to be outside and loves to make people laugh. She is also very independant and going through some major seperation anxiety. She is very shy, and often times does not want anyone but Mama. We go through the day with her holding on to one leg. If someone even walks to close to us, she cries. She also cries whenever I leave the room. She has also been sick lately (which I think has a lot to do with the anxiety/crying), nasty cold, cough, flu and teething, but is finally on the mend. She loves to explore outside and would be happy just to spend all day outdoors. Today we went to feed the ducks and she absolutely loved it. She watched the ducks for 40 minutes. She dances, takes everything out of all cupboards and baskets each day, throws her sipping cup a good distance and always brings me her shoes. A typical 15 month old. We love her lots!I had a shower at my house this last saturday for my cousin Heidi and her baby Courtney. I am so excited for baby Courtney to come. She recieved so many cute things! Don't you just love little girly things. She recieved the cutest stitching for the Nursery, that I will have to remember for someday. Heidi has got to be one of the cutest Pregnant women ever! It was such a fun day!

I also have another new hobby. I made these for baby Courtney and loved them so much that I want to make some for Avery. Aaron watches the BBall games on while I sit next to him and crochet. It was difficult at first because I didn't understand the pattern, thank goodness for google. Crochet has it's own language.


I really love this one. I got a white rose, took it apart and glued lace in between the petals, then added grean rinestone in the center. I can just picture Avery wearing it in the fall with a plum shirt.

Many women have been talking/blogging about this lately and I am right there with them. I love to create! I love to put time, energy, thought and love into gifts. I am currently working on some Mother's Day gifts. I love to learn new things and challenge myself.



I haven't finished the second page in Avery's quiet book yet. I have everything cut out, but haven't gotten to sewing and painting yet. (yes painting, curious?) I have been working in the yard a lot during naptime.



Also, very exciting news, I am a Auntie (again) Congrats to Craig, Sharelle, and Gavin. Little Mason was born 4/19/09 8, pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long. I haven't got to meet him yet
:( due too Avery being sick, but I am so excited. Here is a picture that Craig emailed us. Isn't he so cute! I think he looks more like Craig. I can't wait to meet him.

Shabby Baby

Shabby Apple is having a "Picture Princess" contest. Of course I had to enter Avery. Their dresses are absolutly adorable. One of my favorites is the Vineyard dress you can find it here. They also have lots of other little girls and girls dresses at Shabby baby. I love this one because it is different from all of her other dresses. I love the big flowers, with the pink sash. But, they are all sooooo cute. Avery is totally a picture princess with her big beautiful blue eyes and her sweet smile. She also pulls some pretty hilarious faces too, these tell you more of her personality. She has a face for when she thinks she is funny, a face for when she learns something new, a face for Daddy, and my favorite her big beautiful smile that she gives first thing in the morning. Accompanied by a giggle and running away from me in the crib. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Avery.

Avery is 14 months

Here are just some everyday shots of Avery.

We went to the park a week ago. Avery loved it. She really loved the slide and would laugh every time we went down. She can't go down by herself yet, her feet get stuck. What do you think about her hat? That was my first attempt and crochet. I really enjoyed it. But had to google just about everything on the pattern:)

This picture is from yesterday. My parents brought her home this monkey from their cruise. She is such a funny girl!

I took this one while we were taking a walk today. I am so excited for spring. Avery really enjoys outside, so it will be nice to do more outdoors.

Here are some funny stories of Avery recently:

I was teaching my Scouts CPR. Avery comes with me to Scouts because Aaron is not home yet. After learning CPR, we were discussing first Aid. When we looked back, Avery was pushing on the dummies chest (like CPR) and kept putting her face on the dummies face. It was hilarious!

She tried to eat the plastic grapes at hobby lobby.

She offers her food to Sam and then quickly moves her hand and says "No no no no no no"

Avery is such a sweetheart. She is so fun. She is into everything and is always busy, but she still loves to snuggle. Her newest words are Doggie, Hi, and Jesus. She is a good eater, but we are still working on Broccoli. She loves to play, read books and dance. She will dance to anything (ex: cell phone rings) She is beginning to be really shy around strangers and even will cry if they get to close. She hates to brush her teeth, but will floss, because she is copying us. She is down to one nap a day, but still sleeps good. She is going to be getting ear tubes placed in a couple of weeks. She doesn't have an infection, but her ears are not draining, and there is very little movement in her ear drums and this could affect her hearing later on. I am sure that it is uncomfortable, but you would never know. She is so happy, loving and smart. We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Avery 13 months

I can't believe my baby girl is already 13 months. She is so much fun, and a joy each day. We love her lots. Here are some pictures that I took of her today.

She is always making this face when she is happy, excited, hyper or when she thinks she is being funny.

Look at her go. You probably can't tell by these pictures, that she screamed, for about 3 hours this morning. So we went to the Doctor. She has another ear infection and she is teething, and she has some mild congestion. Poor baby! But as you can see, she is already feeling better. Unfortunetly, she has had 4 ear infections in 2 months. Ever since I weened her. She got her first one 1 week after being weened. So we are going to go see the ENT and discuss tubes.

Here is a little about Avery at 13 months. She talks all day long. The words that she says that we can understand are Mama, Dada, Bah (ball), Uh Oh (a favorite) baba (baby) and her newest is Papa (but we are unsure what this is in refernce to, we are thinking either Grandpa or Puppy, or maybe both). She is very affectionate, always giving hugs, wide open mouth kisses or blowing kisses. I love when she walks up to me and hugs the back of my legs. As you can see, she is always on the move. We spend all day going from one room to the next. Her newest adventure is getting into the cabinets. She loves to dance, play and tease. She is a great eater and eats almost anything that we give her. But she does love to share her food with Sam. The other day I caught her sharing her Dum Dum. She is shy around strangers, loves to sing, and is still a good sleeper. She hates getting dressed or getting her diaper changed, in fact, she will SCREAM if we attempt to change her diaper before she eats in the morning. That is a tough one. She is always making everyone laugh and can entertain us for hours. We play a game where I steal her binky and put the handle end in my mouth, then she gets it back with her mouth. She must think that I want a binky too. Today she found her Thermometer binky and brought it to me and tried to put it in my mouth. So sweet. We love her so much, and are grateful that she is apart of our family.

Avery's First Birthday

As I have mentioned before, I have been looking forward to Avery's first birthday for quite awhile. I can't believe she is one. Here are some pictures from her special day.

First, the decor.

I made this picture banner and hung it in the kitchen. I digi scrapped 5 x7 mini pages of Avery's first year. I spray painted clothespins pink to match and hung them on ribbon. I also embellished each clothes pin.

I can't believe how much she has grown.

This is just one of the pages I did for the banner. I will probably make all of the pages into a mini scrapbook.

I got this tissue puff ball tutorial from Martha Stewart. What

a pain! I kept ripping the tissue paper. It was my idea to add

the ribbon. Then I made Bakerella's cupcake pops for a party

favor/thank you. The picture on the basket is the one of her

holding up 1 finger.

I have been wanting to make a birthday banner for awhile. I just digi scrapped each letter and glued it to white card stock, and cut the edges with scalloped scissors. Most of my decor was made using Dani Mogsteads Sweet Cupcake from SSD.

Since the theme was cupcakes, I had to serve cupcakes :) But I wanted to do something a little different then the usual. I made Banana with cream cheese frosting, peanut butter with chocolate frosting and Chocolate with White chocolate raspberry frosting. I get these ideas in my head of things that I want to do, forgetting that I am not a good baker/dessert maker. I spent all day Saturday baking. But it was worth it.

Here is the Birthday Girls cake. I used the wilton cake mold. The cake is completely dairy and egg free.

Here is part of the birthday ensemble. I made the party hat. I just measured Avery's head, decided on the size that I wanted and cut triangles of fabric. After sewing them together, I ironed on interfacing for some strength and sew on the trip. I topped the hat with Cork screw and straight ribbon and a glitter pink A for Avery. I did the cupcake applique shirt for her to wear with her party skirt. The other is an old onsie that I applied the number 1 on front and added some ruffles on the bum. (I love bum ruffles!) That was for her to wear while she eats her cake.

I really though she would dig into the cake more. She always makes a mess of her food. I am forever trying to clean squish food out of her hair. But she only took a couple of bites of cake, most of which we fed to her. But it was still fun, and I think she liked the cake. These cute pictures are courtesy of Aunt Kami. Thanks Kami!

Thanks to everyone that could make it. We appreciate all of your love and support (and the yummy food brought). We were so happy that you could all spend this special day with us. We missed those of you unable to attend. We love Avery so much! She is such a blessing and and a joy! It was a great day! Avery received many fun gifts that she will thoroughly enjoy. 11 months old!

Avery is 11 months old. I can't believe that in 1 month she will be 1. I am already so excited for her first birthday and party. I just got her party skirt in the mail, but you will have to wait to see it. Aaron was great today. He cleaned while I worked and then helped me take some pictures of Avery. She needs lots of entertaining, I don't think she realizes that I am a very amateur photographer and it is easier for me if my subject holds still. lol! Here are some cute ones of her playing peek-a-boo that I just had to scrapbook.

She is so much fun! Here are some things about her at 11 months. Her favorite food is still bananas. She loves to share her food with Sam and squish it and rub it all in her hair. She now hates bath time, loves to walk, crawl, climb and stand. She says "moo" for cow. And loves her feet tickled. She has 6 teeth, loves to explore everything and LOVES to dance!

This is what I found this morning. I don't know when she did it, because I never even heard a thing. Do you think she is teething? LOL! She has 3 teeth on the bottum and 4 coming in on top at the same time. This isn't the only thing that she is trying to bite. Oh well, but sad too.

And finally... I have been wanting a cute camara strap ever since I got my camara. I haven't been able to find a place to buy one, but I didn't really want to spend that kind of money anyways. I have been looking for an online tutorial on how to make one, but they all involved taking apart my current strap. I finally found a tutorial submitted on tip junkie for how to make a "slip cover" for my camara strap. So finally I made one. It was pretty easy. My didn't turn out perfect, but I still like it. Maybe I will make more after the holidays and Avery's Birthday have come and gone.

Avery at 10 Months!

I know, I know, I can't believe she is already 10 months old. These are some pictures that I took of her last week. It was a lot easier to take her picture before she was mobile. This time I had to entertain her, take pictures with toys and give her treats. Warning: there are a lot of pictures coming.

She loves to go to the sliding glass doors and stand, so I had to get a picture of it.

I like taking pictures looking down at her. She will usually smile. I must look funny.

This is her new doll stroller. She loves it! She always wants to push it around. I didn't realize that the doll was in upside down. Oops.

She is always making this face. Scrunching up her nose when she smiles.

Here is a little information about Avery at 10 months. She loves to feed herself, and is finally interested in what we are eating. Her favorite is bannas. She makes a huge mess. She loves to walk everywhere, and always kicks her right leg up really high. She started crawling on 10/30. She is a slow crawler but it works for her. She thinks the stairs are really fun, and you can always tell when she is on them because she starts to laugh. She now stands up in her crib when it is time to get out, and is climbing on everything. She says Mama, Dada, Ba for ball, and Uh Oh, and she can nod her head no. She is a lot of fun, and we enjoy everyday. It is amazing how quickly she learns and how happy she is.
