Superbowl Craft

I know, those words don't go together. Last year during the superbowl, we made baby bracelets. I thought it would be a fun tradition to do a craft every year while the men watch the Superbowl. I have been seeing these pillows around lately. There is a tutorial on the Crafting Chicks but I did mine differently. I had seen these pillows at Gardner Village last October. I loved them. I originally was thinking of doing one for Avery's room, but thought it would be perfect on my Chair in my Living room. I wanted yellow, not quite this golden, but I had to settle. Ben Franklin has a lot of wool felt right now in lots of pretty colors. I think I will do a blue square one with Oval shaped petals for my Family room. I have a picture on my phone, but can't get it to email to my account. I used a coupon and already had the stuffing, so it cost me about $6 to make, and I was able to complete it by the end of the 3rd quarter. It took a little less than 1 yard. It was a lot of fun, and was pretty easy considering I wasn't sure how I was going to do it. I am really happy with how it turned out. I thought it would be cute to put a broach or large button in the center but decided to leave it as is.





Aaron and I had a fun weekend. We went to my Brother's basketball game on friday, saw 2 movies and went to the Jazz game on saturday. The girls had a fun weekend with my parents. The Superbowl party was a blast. It was fun to visit, craft, laugh and eat.

Our Week

On Monday, we went to the Treehouse museum with some friends. It had been awhile since we had been. Halle had been once when she was around 3 months. She really enjoyed it this time. She loved walking around, watching the other kids, listening to the music and stories and sitting on the little furniture.



She liked all of the little toys and wanted to explore everything.



Avery had fun playing with her friends, she loves every area, but I think the favorite is the Castle with the dress ups. She really enjoyed story and singing time and would sing and do the actions to every song. They also do a little art project. It was supposed to be a bear mask, but she wanted to cut it herself. I have been working with her on using scissors. At first I was so paranoid because of Avery's love for the movie Tangled, about her cutting her hair. So we went over many times that she is not to cut her hair or her sister or friends. We started out cutting plato. She was doing great, I turned around to cook dinner and when I turned back around, she was cutting her cloths. Apparently I needed to go over more.





On Thursday to celebrate Chinese New Year, we had some friends over and ate Chinese food. I love Chinese food. We enjoyed visiting and the kids enjoyed playing.

Halle cut a molar on her left upper side and has not been a happy camper.

We went to story time at the Library today. Both girls loved it. They read lots of funny rhyming stories about cows. The girls love to read books and it introduces us to new stories.

To celebrate and countdown to Valentines day. I made each of us little mailboxes. I bought these mailboxes 2 years ago from Target with this idea in mind, but just got around to it. I did see some there this year though. I have been collecting things to put in it for awhile now. Little treats, stuff to make homemade Valentines, notes and some other fun things. We also have some Valentines books from the Library to read each day. Avery has really enjoyed opening her mailbox each day and making things to go in our mailboxes. I think a mailbox would be a fun addition to a play room. I just designed want I wanted in Photoshop, had it printed at Kinkos and just attached with glue dots. I put our names on it along with pictures so it would be easier for Avery to identify which mailbox was who's. It was really simple and has been really fun.



Aaron and I have a fun weekend ahead of us. We are going to my Little Brother's basketball game tonight. And then we are sending the kids home with my parents. So we will have all day Saturday to hang out together before we are going to the Jazz game Saturday night. We will then go get the girls on Sunday and have a Superbowl party with my family. I am excited for the games, commercials, but also for a little project I am hoping to get done during the game. Then on Monday, we are going to dinner with Aaron's family to celebrate his Mom's Birthday. Lots to look forward too. I am sad to leave the girls, this is my first time away from Halle. But I am also excited to spend some time with Aaron. And the Girls will have a ball with Grandpa and Grandma Waddoups.
