My Sister is Engadged!

We are so excited. McCall and Jason came over to our house on Friday to annouce that they are engadged. They are going to be married on August 6th. We have already started looking for wedding dresses. It is so much. We could not be happier for them. Welcome to the family Jason!

Shabby Baby

Shabby Apple is having a "Picture Princess" contest. Of course I had to enter Avery. Their dresses are absolutly adorable. One of my favorites is the Vineyard dress you can find it here. They also have lots of other little girls and girls dresses at Shabby baby. I love this one because it is different from all of her other dresses. I love the big flowers, with the pink sash. But, they are all sooooo cute. Avery is totally a picture princess with her big beautiful blue eyes and her sweet smile. She also pulls some pretty hilarious faces too, these tell you more of her personality. She has a face for when she thinks she is funny, a face for when she learns something new, a face for Daddy, and my favorite her big beautiful smile that she gives first thing in the morning. Accompanied by a giggle and running away from me in the crib. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Avery.

Avery's ear tube placement

Today, Avery got tubes placed in both of her ears. I was nervous, but everything went great.

Here is a picture while we were waiting. She enjoyed playing with the Nurse's stool. She did really good until the Anesthesiologist took her back. She cried. They said that she went to sleep easily, the procedure took around 15 minutes.

They kept warning us that afterwards, kids wake up screaming. But not Avery. She just started playing with the cords, cuddled for a little bit, looked at the other kids screaming, drake a sippy cup full of apple juice and wanted to play.

She came home, took a nap, and now acts like any other day. We love her lots, and are so glad everything went so well.

Avery is 14 months

Here are just some everyday shots of Avery.

We went to the park a week ago. Avery loved it. She really loved the slide and would laugh every time we went down. She can't go down by herself yet, her feet get stuck. What do you think about her hat? That was my first attempt and crochet. I really enjoyed it. But had to google just about everything on the pattern:)

This picture is from yesterday. My parents brought her home this monkey from their cruise. She is such a funny girl!

I took this one while we were taking a walk today. I am so excited for spring. Avery really enjoys outside, so it will be nice to do more outdoors.

Here are some funny stories of Avery recently:

I was teaching my Scouts CPR. Avery comes with me to Scouts because Aaron is not home yet. After learning CPR, we were discussing first Aid. When we looked back, Avery was pushing on the dummies chest (like CPR) and kept putting her face on the dummies face. It was hilarious!

She tried to eat the plastic grapes at hobby lobby.

She offers her food to Sam and then quickly moves her hand and says "No no no no no no"

Avery is such a sweetheart. She is so fun. She is into everything and is always busy, but she still loves to snuggle. Her newest words are Doggie, Hi, and Jesus. She is a good eater, but we are still working on Broccoli. She loves to play, read books and dance. She will dance to anything (ex: cell phone rings) She is beginning to be really shy around strangers and even will cry if they get to close. She hates to brush her teeth, but will floss, because she is copying us. She is down to one nap a day, but still sleeps good. She is going to be getting ear tubes placed in a couple of weeks. She doesn't have an infection, but her ears are not draining, and there is very little movement in her ear drums and this could affect her hearing later on. I am sure that it is uncomfortable, but you would never know. She is so happy, loving and smart. We are so blessed to have her in our family.

What a day!

Well the last two days to be exact. We have been very busy and have had a lot of firsts. Avery had her first accident in the tub twice, first played with crayons, first ride in the big girl carseat and first tried tunafish and spagetti. She liked them both with some encouragement, but next time I give her spagetti, I am going to strip her down to her diaper. She is finally feeling better and back to her normal self. She is so much fun and makes me laugh. I am grateful for every first, even the messy ones :) Her latest is that she loves to go through my cupboards, I am forever putting my pots and pans away.

I have also been busy making 150 cupcake pops. For what you ask, why the scouting blue and gold banquet of course. Avery has been great while I have been doing this. She played with Sam a lot today. It was fun to hear her giggle.

Also, some exciting news. When my friends and I and our kids had our playdate last week, they talked about their favorite lense. I took some pictures with it and loved it. I had some Christmas money left so I was able to get it and it arrived today. Here are some of my first pictures. It takes awesome indoor shots.

Thanks for coming to play

Today we got to play. We got together with Stef, Val, and Jami and their kids. It was so much fun to visit, eat lunch and have our kids play together. The only way we could get them to all sit still for pictures was to give them all suckers. It was really fun to get together. We definetly need to do it more and often.
